Microcentrifuge tubes
The G-force rating of all MCTs (microcentrifuge tubes) is influenced by many factors, including TIME (of spin) and the TEMPERATURE inside the centrifuge. A 1.5ml TubeOne® tube that is spun for 10 minutes at 20°C will be fine at 30,000 G, but at 40°C will only be rated to 20,000 G. The same tube spun for 10 minutes at 20°C would only be rated to 28,000 G if spun for half an hour! TubeOne® are among the finest microcentrifuge tubes available and are conservatively rated at 20,000 G, but will perform to higher specifications under optimal conditions.
